![DIARY OF A NEW DAD:
So I was thinking about a story from Matthew chapter 18, where Jesus’ disciples asked Him who would be the greatest in heaven? Jesus called a little child over to Him, and here is His response,
“Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. [4] So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.”
As I look at my beautiful son and see how much he loves me and needs me, and looks to his mother and I for his every need, I can see how lacking I am in my conscious need of my heavenly Father. I want to NEED Jesus like Ezra needs me. I want to LOVE Jesus like Ezra loves me. I am praying that God will help me humble myself and realize that apart from Him I can do nothing. 9/14/2011 - Ezra Putting Himself To Sleep Again: finally, I thought, as I walked with him on my shoulder fighting going to bed as usual. He was squirmy but not fussing, so i thought i’ll just lay him down and see if he can sooth himself to sleep again like he did for a short period of time, a couple months ago. I thought, well he seems to be adjusting to his new room and feeling comfortable enough for me to lay him down and leave him, as I listened to him babbling softly in the monitor. His sleepy noises, or so I assumed, were getting a little louder and more frequent but they seemed like contented sounds so I decided to give him a minute. As it happened exactly 1 minute later Ezra’s voice seemed closer to the monitor microphone, so I went to investigate. That little stinker was off of his bed and playing in the curtains as they billowed over him in the glow of the night light! He rolled to his tummy and looked up at me and started quietly talking away. I love him to death. So needless to say some walking, rocking, patting and a little fussing and farting later and he finally fell sound asleep! So i guess we’ll try putting ourselves to sleep again tomorrow and see how that goes!
